Vermont's Secretary of State publishes your agent's name, email and address in a free online database. Search any LLC name and it shows. 11 V.S.A. § 4033 then makes you republish all three on the annual report every year. That is why most Vermont owners buy a service instead of listing a home address.

The annual report is due within three months of your fiscal year end, so January 1 to March 31 for calendar year LLCs. Miss it and the penalty is not a fine. Under 11 V.S.A. § 4034 the state terminates your articles of organization. Coming back is not one charge at the end. You owe the $45 report fee and a $35 reinstatement fee for every year you missed. Three missed years is $240. Five years past the due date, the name goes too.

Vermont does not offer anonymous LLC formation. Member and manager names sit on public filings. The agent address is the one piece of personal information you can realistically pull off the record.

Vermont also has agents based in Vermont, and they undercut this list. One in Shelburne advertises $49 a year.
