What Stripe Atlas actually does
Stripe Atlas forms a Delaware C corporation or LLC and wires in the Stripe ecosystem. It files your incorporation, gets your EIN from the IRS, issues founder shares, and files your 83(b) election. The legal templates are drafted with Cooley LLP, a known startup law firm. Stripe says more than 100,000 founders across 140 countries have used it. The setup is fast. You can accept payments and open a bank account within a couple of business days.

The real cost, year one and after
Year one costs $500, and Stripe includes the government filing fees in that price. That is unusual. After year one, you pay $100 a year to keep the registered agent, and Delaware still bills the company every year, which Atlas does not pay for you. An LLC owes a flat $400 tax by June 1 and files no annual report. A C corp files an annual report by March 1, a $50 filing fee plus franchise tax that starts at $175. So the $500 is honest for setup. Stripe Atlas charges one flat fee of $500 to start a US company. That fee covers the Delaware filing, the state fees, your EIN, and your first year of registered agent service. After year one, the agent renews at $100 a year. It is fast and trusted. The templates are drafted with Cooley LLP, but the product is built for the Delaware C corp fundraising track.
