2. File your Information Report by April 15 in the right year ($90 online). The cycle is biennial. Form in an even year, file in even years. Odd year formations file in odd years. Miss the deadline plus the three month grace period and your LLC is forfeited.
3. Register for Kansas sales tax if you sell taxable goods or services. The state sales tax rate is 6.5%, and many cities add local taxes on top. Register through the Kansas Department of Revenue.
4. Draft an operating agreement. Kansas does not require one. State law counts written, oral, and even implied agreements, and no one has to sign one (K.S.A. 17-7663). Put yours in writing anyway, banks and partners will ask for it.
